Here at Barnes Class, we are thrilled to be constantly updating our diary with terrific new classes for our wonderful community. This autumn has been no exception! We have hosted courses across many venues, including joining our friends at The Bulls Head, and have seen a great mix of students, some returning as well as brand new. As our lineup for the season begins to wind down, we’re taking a look back at some of the fun we’ve had this September.
This week marks the final class for our Mindful Yoga course with longtime yoga instructor Ali Gilling. Ali’s enthusiasm for her students and for her practice is so evident in every event she holds! She teaches not only traditional yoga poses, but instills mindfulness and meditation alongside the physical aspects of her teaching. We are so pleased to have her continually return to Barnes Class to share her passion.
Another Barnes Class teacher joined us this September with her hit course Introduction to Photography. Jane Cox is a local resident working as a professional photographer, providing family portraits and wedding shots just to name a few. Her class is all about inclusion- Jane loves helping beginners and is passionate about photography in many forms, whether it be behind the lens of a professional camera or simply mobile phone snaps. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Jane this September, you can read the full interview here.
We’ve had incredible feedback from our new Perfectly Potty class with Mellie Alexander. All the students say that Mellie is delightful and a great teacher, able to take brand new students to pot throwers in no time! Check out some of their work on our Facebook page.
Our last September offering is currently in its final week, and we could not be more excited to view the results. Esteemed artist Michael Ajerman once again has brought art to life with his Drawing with Colour class, this time with a twist. Michael’s autumn course used David Hockney’s 82 Portraits and 1 Still Life, currently on exhibit at the Royal Academy, as a guide for learning. The beautiful exhibition helped inspire Michael’s students and offered them many different portrait styles to try out. Needless to say, we think the results will be spectacular!
If you did not get a chance to join us this autumn, we look forward to seeing you in the spring! We are constantly updating our web presence with new and exciting class bookings; we hope to see you at a Barnes Class soon!
